To celebrate 100 years of Chaplin’s iconic Tramp, the Musée de la bande dessinée in Angoulême, France is presenting a collection of American, French and British comics featuring the Tramp.

One of contemporary Britain’s most renowned directors, Mike Leigh, discusses Chaplin with British film historian, television documentary-maker, filmmaker, author, and film editor, Kevin Brownlow, on June 27, 2014 at the Birth of the Tramp Celebration:

Australia: Charles Chaplin - Screen Legend

This October, Foxtel and FOX Classics Australia present Charles Chaplin - Screen Legend, a month-long celebration to commemorate the centenary of Chaplin’s first appearance on film as the iconic Little Tramp character.

Over four Sunday afternoons, starting October 5, FOX Classics’ Mr Movies Bill Collins will introduce a selection of Chaplin’s films from the silent era through to the talkies.

“His films make you laugh a lot but they make you cry too. They are an experience in sight and sound with moments you will never forget,” Mr Collins said.
