Personally, I cannot tolerate Will Farrel, Adam Sandler, and whomever the "business men" of the American film industry push out. They command us to laugh at the same asinine routines/gags over and over again to ad nausea. (AND WE DO) Life is full of comedy. You may be anywhere as it boldly displays it's face. Chaplin said in Limelight: "People as individuals, I like them, but as a crowd they are like a monster without a head that can be prodded in any direction" When I heard him say that, I thought it quite profound and quite true. Furthermore, it applies well with comedy. It is puzzling (though not surprising) to see the American public continually patronize these insults to humor(and sometimes humanity i.e. the release of Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay or Borat). I have not paid to see an american made movie for over 3 years. I personally protest the destruction to all that is funny, silly, whole-hearted REAL fun. The American public doesn't know what funny is. I truly believe we have lost it all. If Chaplin knew, he'd be rolling in his grave. It makes me wonder, where did the comedy go?

i agree but that's what so special about us.Some folks can't stand "old movie jokes"and need kitschy simple fun that can relate better to their usual life.Chaplin will never be lost, there will always be fans like us.If not i promise i will educate my future generation of kids and grandsons to be sure:D (hahah, hitler!)
