Me, a Fan of Charlie Chaplin

 My Story

okay, I am a huge, huge, huge - well words can't really comprehend how amazing I find Chaplin's life, his work and his methods of filmmaking. The way he tells stories, the way he devised the stories. I have read Chaplin his life and art by David Robinson, and i'm hoping to work my way through Charlie's own Autobiography - and I can't wait to read the new city lights book by Charles Maland.

What surprises most people about this story is, well. I can do a speech from my mind of about 10 minutes or more about Charles Chaplin, and I know it's sad, but I write essays about his films in my spare time. I'm building a collection of all of his films, so far I have only to collect - well, none, but im hoping to buy them all on dvd! Bcause all of the MK2 (first national, ua and independant) ones I can watch on Sky Anytime, while the others (keystones, essenays and mutuals) I do have on dvd or vhs. So all of this, and it is september, I became a fan of charlie chaplin in April of this year! In five months I have become a great fan of chaplin's, and  some of the people at school say i'm sad, or that i'm a 'mug', but nobody listnens to them. All of my freinds think it's good knowledge, cool or some relly dont care wether im a fan or not, The teachers respect me for it (well some do).

I'm also a filmmaker, well - yeah. I help to run a Youth film organization Adder Films (just google it). Charlie Chaplin's films have pretty much given me a 5 month course into potentially brilliant filmmaking, and all I have to do is watch. His use of shots and co-ordination have really influenced me, as a fan, as a person, as a filmmaker. - The only bad thing to have come out of this, is that my rib cage hurts from too much laughing! =]
