In 2003 and 2004 the British Film Institute released in two volumes, Charlie Chaplin’s twelve comedy shorts, created by him for the Mutual Film Corporation in 1916 and 1917. This CD is Carl Davis’s choice of music, composed by him for Charlie’s Mutuals as they came to be known as, after the company that produced them.

Slapstick Festival’s annual celebration of silent comedy in Bristol returns to Colston Hall for a 12th year, with a special screening of Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece, ‘The Kid’, on Friday, 22 January 2016.
Chaplin’s own score will be performed live by the Bristol Ensemble.
